Providing residential intellectual disability services and developmental disability services for adults.

Mattern House, Inc. has been providing residential intellectual disability services and developmental disability services for adults since 1982.  We have an Administrative Office located in Williamsburg, PA and a Program Office located in Duncansville, PA.  We currently have 11 residential homes in Blair County.

It takes a wide range of employees to provide the care and support for the people who live at Mattern House.  Our staff include:  administrator, chief executive officer, program specialists,  medical coordinators, incident management representative, training coordinator, direct support professionals, secretarial staff, human resource department, accounting assistant, purchasing coordinator, and maintenance.

The residential homes are licensed through the Office of Developmental Programs and follow the 6100 and 6400 regulations that are mandated by the state of Pennsylvania.  Our homes are staffed by direct support professionals (DSP) and supervisors.  DSPs are the back-bone of our organization.  We cannot provide the necessary care for the individuals who live here without these highly-trained staff.  DSPs provide medical support and personal care to the individuals.   Staff prepare meals and do light housekeeping duties and are trained on how to operate house computers, printers, and interagency phones. They also assist individuals with managing their finances and transport them to appointments, church,  shopping, salons, day program, etc.   All staff are trained on incident management, fire safety, documentation and other required trainings. 

The administrative staff provide over-sight and training to the DSPs who work in our homes.  We work as a team to make sure that each staff person has the necessary skills and support needed to provide excellent care to the people who live at Mattern House.
