Program Specialist

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or above from an accredited college or university and 1 year work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and 2 years work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities
  • Associate’s degree or 60 credit hours from an accredited college or university and 4 years work experience working directly with persons with intellectual disabilities
  • Must complete eligibility requirements, physical examination, and a criminal record check (Act 33 clearances)

Some of the responsibilities of the Program Specialist are as follows:

  • Responsible for a maximum caseload of up to 30 individuals
  • Coordinate and complete assessments
  • Provide assessment for development of ISP, ISP Annual Update, and all ISP revisions as required
  • Participate in development of ISP, ISP Annual Update and all ISP revisions, attend the ISP, ISP Annual Update and ISP revisions, review ISP, Annual Update and all ISP revisions, report content discrepancies to Supports Coordinator as applicable and Plan Team members, implement the ISP as written
  • Supervise, monitor, and evaluate services
  • Review, sign, and date monthly documentation of an individual’s participation and progress toward outcomes
  • Report changes related to the individuals’ needs to Support Coordinators and Plan Team members
  • Review ISPs with all individuals, document review of plan, and provide a copy to the Supports Coordinator and Plan Team members as required
  • Inform Plan Team members of the option to decline the ISP review documentation
  • Recommend a revision to a service or outcome in the ISP
  • Coordinate services provided to the individuals
  • Coordinate training of direct care workers in the content of Health and Safety needs relevant to each individual
  • Develop and implement provider services as per regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate the ISP process to include the individual, the individual’s family, friends, and others at the direction of the individual
  • Develop the ISP to reflect what is important to the individual and ensure that it is directed by the individual
  • Meet all Mattern House employment policies
  • Ensure that all staff are providing a fun, respectful, and safe environment for all individuals
  • Train all new staff on responsibilities to ensure they fully understand how to comply with current regulations and what is expected of them including duties, behavior, attitude, attendance, etc.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on current regulations, regulation changes and updates, and train staff accordingly
  • Maintain a level of professionalism and act as a role leader for all other Mattern House employees.
